(More customer reviews)Ok, so here's the scoop. I have a Viking Mega Quilter long arm sewing machine that's about five or six years old. It sat in a box for several years, and when I brought it out this last year to use it, the machine only had one bobbin. This should not be a problem - but it was. The bobbins are an odd size. They're not the usual plastic Husquvarna/Viking bobbins - those green plastic ones, which I have in abundance since I use the standard ones in my Husquvarna Platinum 770 machine. They're a metal bobbin, but they're not the usual metal bobbin that is commonly used in most other machines - which I also had and you can find at any fabric store. These are a weird, European bobbin - solid on the sides and maybe 1/16th of an inch skinnier than the standard metal bobbin.
Alrighty then, I'll go to a local dealer to pick up the Viking bobbin. So I trek 10 miles up the road to the closest Joann Fabric store (the most common Husky dealer) and lo and behold, they don't carry them in that store (although they do have them on their website - the price is a bit less but the shipping is more). Ok, so the next closest dealer is a quilt shop about 25 miles away - the DC area is NOT a good place to live if you sew - but they're only open during the week when I'm at work, and on Saturdays - but not Sundays, but I just didn't seem to be able to get there when they were open. And I never seemed to remember to call them when they were open to find out if they even carried this bobbin.
So, after pricing everything out, factoring in shipping, the cost of the gas/time I wasted on my excursion to Joann's, I bought two packages of these bobbins. And I'm happy. They're the right ones and anyone who sews knows that having 10 bobbins (5 per pack) is prudent when they're this hard to find. Or even if they're not hard to find - if you sew, you need multiple bobbins. You know you will use them. Sometimes, even if the shipping seems like a lot of money - it's just worth it. So, if these are the ones you need, save yourself the aggravation, buy at least two packs and you will be happy too.
